We put together 31 Tricks and Treats for a safe and fun Halloween for children who have food allergies, dietary restrictions or for parents who just want their kids to have less candy.

http://www.allergymoms.com/uploads/newsletters/halloweentipstreats.html

Here are just some of the non-edible suggestions:

Better yet, consider giving out trinkets in place of candy to keep things safe for other allergic children. Here are some websites to get you started: www.orientaltrading.com, www.toyconnection.com, www.smalltoys.com.

Some terrific ideas are: Silly Putty (latex free), wooden building sets ($1 at craft stores, often 40% off), bubbles, mini play doh, magnets, glow sticks (15 for $1 at Target), chalk, stickers, gel pens, mini tablets, Barbie or superhero (latex free) band-aids, tattoos, stickers, charms for backpack or purse, plastic novelty cups, Halloween straws, mini slinky, plastic rings or bracelets, army men, and spider rings.
